Privacy Policy — Scanrad.io

Last updated: June 2, 2026

Scanrad.io (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is an app for listening to live and recorded public radio. We’ve built it to respect your privacy. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information.

The short version

The Scanrad.io app does not collect personal information. There is no account, no sign-up, and no advertising or third-party tracking.

Information stored on your device

This information stays on your device. Deleting the app removes it.

Information sent over the network

To function, the app requests data from our servers at scanrad.io — the channel list, channel activity, transmission metadata, and audio. As with any internet service, our servers may receive standard technical request information such as IP address and may keep short-lived operational and security logs. We do not use this information to build profiles of users, to track you across apps or websites, or for advertising. All network traffic uses encrypted HTTPS connections.

Information we do NOT collect

Children’s privacy

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

About the audio content

Scanrad.io plays lawful, over-the-air reception of public radio transmissions. Transmission metadata shown in the app consists only of timestamps and numeric radio unit identifiers; it does not contain names, addresses, or other personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
